How is the procedure done?

• A needle is inserted through the navel and carbon dioxide is inflated into the abdomen to permit better view and room for operation. 
• Four very small incisions are made through which the laparoscope with a camera and other laparoscopic tools of operation are inserted. 
• The perforation is located after which the abdomen is cleaned and the perforation is closed with an omental patch.
• All the instruments are then removed and the incisions are sutured with stitches or surgical tape.
